What is CC curl? CC curl is a lash curl that sits between C and D—more lift than C, but less dramatic than D.
CC vs C vs D: C = everyday lift • CC = brighter, more open-eye look • D = bold dramatic lift.
Best for: clients who want more lift than C without going full D, and for creating a clean “open eye” finish.
CC curl is one of the most searched lash questions because it’s the “in-between” curl: more lift than C, but not as dramatic as D. If your client says “I want my eyes to look more open, but not too intense,” CC is often the perfect answer.

When should you choose CC curl?
- Client wants “more open eyes” but doesn’t want a dramatic D-curl look
- Photos / content / glam sets where you want extra pop on the lash line
- Slightly downward natural lashes (when you want more lift without going full D)
- Wispy styles where spikes + lift create a clean, airy top line
When CC might NOT be the best choice
- Very natural request: choose J/B/C
- Very deep-set or very curly natural lashes: CC can look too lifted—C may blend better
- Client asks for maximum curl: go D or DD (and keep lengths controlled)
Beginner tip: CC curl can “look shorter”
Because CC has more lift, it can visually appear shorter than C at the same length. Many artists either keep the same length and enjoy the lift—or go 1mm longer only if the client wants extra length.
CC curl mapping tip (easy rule)
If your outer corner tends to drop, CC curl often helps—but avoid making the very end too long. For a lifted finish, keep the last zone the same length or 1mm shorter.
